Job Description

This roledriveslogisticsandIoT(Internet of Things)device strategy initiatives and partners with Strategic Management Office (SMO) leadership toacceleratebusinessreadinesstowardthe future ofAbbVieSupply Chain.TheAssociate Director (AD)partners closely withGlobal Distribution and Logisticsleadership to ensure thebusinessdeliversonits vision and goals,providingstrategic guidance and fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and excellence.Playinga key role in shaping and executing business management routines, this role supports initiatives that includestrategic planning,overseeingbudget andfinancials,engagement with keystakeholders,and supportingtalent development, while actively promoting cross-functional connectivity throughout the organization.This rolewill drivestrategic initiatives and special projects aimed at enhancinglogisticsprocessesand customer impactbyleveragingtechnology related to visibility, telemetry,and other capabilitiesrelated toconnected/ IoTdevicesand associated infrastructure. The role will strive tounlocknew sources ofvalue andinnovate in partnership with key suppliersandinternal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner withGlobal Supply Chain Leadership(including Strategic Management Office and Global Distribution & Logistics)to design andoptimizestorage and fulfillment processes, technology, and organizational effectiveness, drivingalignment with long-rangecorporate, supply chain,and regional priorities.

  • Lead and drive strategic initiatives and projects focused onIoT, visibility,and other relevantcapabilities and capturing value, acting as an internal subject matter expert on real-timelogisticsvisibility and related hardware/system architecture, with continued assessment oflogisticseffectiveness. Coordinate with cross-functional teams toalign onstrategies or opportunities to design and implement improvements.

  • Partner with andadviseRegional Leads, Distribution Managers (DMs), and Regional Transportation Managers (RTMs)related toimplementingstrategic visionandchange initiatives(e.g.automation,otheradvanced capabilities)whileensuring alignment across the network

  • Define, track, and analyze KPIs to measurelogisticsefficiencyandperformance, ensuring data-driven improvementsareimpactingthe relevantprocesses and outcomes.

  • Engage cross-functionally and externally to foster strategic partnerships that promote best practices,facilitateinnovative solutions, and strengthen connectivity across business units and with external providers.

  • Oversee business management routines, including performance metrics, operating reviews, and management reviews, andleverageexternalpartners when necessary to ensure efficient, compliant, and scalable operations.

  • Maximize opportunities for continuous improvement by sharing best practices, supporting capability building, andfacilitatingvalue creation throughtargetedinitiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelorsdegreerequired, in preferred fields in Supply Chain, Business Management, or other applicable degrees.

  • At least7-10years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain(Fulfillment)required.

  • Familiarity with IoT technology and related infrastructurerequired.

  • Pharmaceutical, Transformation, or similar fields, with technology implementation and analytics experiencepreferred.

  • Objective strategic thinker with a demonstrated drive for results.

  • Analytical orientation and comfortable with ambiguity and complexity.

  • Dependable, trusted leader who isexperienced indealing with confidential information.

  • Ability to connect the dots and influence across a complex, matrixedorganization.

  • HighEmotional Intelligence (EQ) and relationship building experience.

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and mentoring / coaching skills.

  • Strong communicationskills, oral and written, great at packaging information depending onaudience.

  • Goodunderstanding ofproject management practices, portfolio review, finance, and budgeting.
